Why do we need Real Reputations? Aren't ratings good enough?
Real Reputations allows us, as a community, to define not only what we think of someone, but why why we feel that way about them, and to share our feelings with the world. It also allows us, as individuals, to join a global trust network that shows the world who we trust, who trusts us, and what THEIR reputations are. This is vastly superior to the built-in ratings system, and is something that the community has needed for a long time.
How do I leave feedback about a resident or add them to my trust network?
You must use the free Real Reputations in-world HUD to do either of these things. View our join page to find out where to get a HUD. We offer a web interface to Real Reputation premium subscribers, so they can leave feedback that is longer than the HUD accepts, but this process is started from the HUD as well.
Someone left me negative feedback! What can I do about it?
The best course of action depends on the situation. If the feedback is accurate, the best thing to do is to resolve the situation that led to the negative feedback, and then click the "request removal" button under it on your feedback page to ask the other party to remove it. Feedbacks (negative or positive) can only be removed when both parties agree.
If the feedback is NOT accurate, we recommend attaching a comment to it that explains your side of the situation with this resident. Just click the "write comment" link under it on your feedback page.
Of course, if we agree that the feedback violates our terms of service, it can be removed by us. Just log in and contact us. We'll take a look at the feedback and remove it if we feel that removal is appropriate. (NOTE: We will NEVER remove any feedback that isn't clearly in violation of our terms of service! Please don't ask us to.)
Can I remove someone from my trust network?
Absolutely! You can do this at any time, for any reason. Just view your trust network and click the "remove" link next to the resident that you'd like to remove. Their approval is NOT required. When you remove another resident from your trust network, you are automatically removed from theirs as well.
